Honda dn-01 prototype

The DN-01’s technology theme continues in its brakes. It uses Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS) plus an anti-lock system. Application of the front brake lever actuates five of six pistons in the dual three-piston front calipers using big 296mm floating front rotors (the same size as a Gold Wing’s!). The rear brake pedal engages a single piston in the left-side front caliper as well as the large 276mm rear disc

THE 500.000$ chopper

A chopper plated with 24k gold destined to the “throwing money out the window” lovers, worth 500.000$

Honda Ev-06

Honda -- please offer this bike for sale in the U.S.! Make sure to keep the styling intact, including the snarling headlight and very well integrated radiator. Touches like the single-sided swingarm, USD fork and dual front disks would be nice too. Follow Suzuki's lead and keep the styling mildly controversial and you've got a winner on your hands.

KTM Duke 690

KTM, Austria's sports bike maker, is planning to launch its bike as a joint venture with Bajaj in India. Initially KTM will launch Duke 690 in the Indian motorcycle market. KTM Duke 690 will largely be developed at Bajaj’s Chakan, India plant and will be marketed through Bajaj’s Probiking showrooms. This joint venture of KTM and Bajaj may be extended to manufacture scooters as well.

Easy Riders: It's time to start your bikes

By David Booth

Spring hasn't really sprung and the grass most certainly has not riz, so it's little wonder where the motorcycles is -- in the garage. After a long winter, any delay is much to the chagrin of everyone (that's including Yours Truly) itching to head out for a ride.

That, of course, also means we have even more time to spend shopping for a new ride. And, Lord knows, the motorcycle industry is eager to accommodate you after a rough 2007.

Few sport bikes causing a lot of collisions

By Meghan Hurley

SPORT bikes make up just 16 per cent of the nearly 9,500 motorcycles on the provincial roads but account for almost half of all motorcycle collisions in the province, Manitoba Public Insurance reports.

Last year, there were 1,211 collisions involving motorcycles -- and 48 per cent involved the machines aptly known as 'crotch rockets.'

"Over the last number of years the sport bikes are over-represented in collision claims with respect to how many are on the road," said Brian Smiley, spokesman for MPI. "They are popular with younger motorists."
